Is the death penalty right to carry out in the 34 states that have it? Me personally I think the Death Penalty should not exist because of these main topics that I have came up with.
First, Executions cost more then prison an average person in prison will add up to approximately $500,000 After food expenses, lawyers, electrical, Employment of workers. Which comes out of state taxes which could go to other things. On the Other hand Executions take up to $2,000,000 After all of expenses dealing with the overall uses of the prisoner (free counsel for defense, for appeals, maximum security (their own death row wing). This is just one of my many reasons why the Death Penalty should not be used. Secondly, Innocent people may be killed. Since 1976 82 death row inmates where freed due to advanced technology which proved their innocence and they were sent free! So for every seven inmates convicted one of those seven where innocent. This is my second reason that I do not agree with the Death Penalty. My Third, and final reason for not having the death penalty is Forgiveness/Remorse. For this I mean that the person that is put to life is prison has a chance to make things right and really think about what happened when they murdered someone. Thus they have to live with that for the rest of their life then say the "easy" way out of it. Money, Innocent killings, and Forgiveness/Remorse are just three of my reasons why I think the Death Penalty is wrong and should be changed in those 34 states. Thank you Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_penalty) for some of this information.
