Joe Mauer Thesis Paper

Joe Mauer, Is a Shy quite guy but on the feild he is A potential MVP Catcher. Joe Mauer Is one of the twins leaders, and without Justin Mornoue thier star First basemen thier going to need to have Joe Mauer Step up to the plate. So far in the Series against the Yankees thier 0-2 and Joe Mauer is not doing his share of the team overal his overal statictics are 2-9 with 3 stickouts. That is not how the Twins are going to win a world series the twins are in the time of need headed to New york. Thus if Twins even want a shot to get past the Yankees to go on and play the Devil Rays or Rangers thier going to have to see a Better proformance from Joe Mauer. Joe Currently has a .327 Batting average 3rd best in the Major leagues. Although the Twins have many other players carrying thier weight including Young, Cuddyer, Span who of those 3 are awarded, Span tied for secound with with 10 triples. Young with is tied secound with doubles with 46. Young also is RBI's in 5th place with 112 RBI's. Although his team is doing fine the Twins are in need of a Captian. And Joe Mauer is the one thats needs to step up. His Regular season is fine but now is where all that hard work is shown. After losing the first two games in the season and going to the Bronx for another 3rd game.

My Opinion Paper on The Death Penalty

Is the death penalty right to carry out in the 34 states that have it? Me personally I think the Death Penalty should not exist because of these main topics that I have came up with.
First, Executions cost more then prison an average person in prison will add up to approximately $500,000 After  food expenses, lawyers, electrical, Employment of workers. Which comes out of state taxes which could go to other things. On the Other hand Executions take up to $2,000,000 After all of expenses dealing with the overall uses of the prisoner (free counsel for defense, for appeals, maximum security (their own death row wing). This is just one of my many reasons why the Death Penalty should not be used. Secondly, Innocent people may be killed. Since 1976 82 death row inmates where freed due to advanced technology which proved their innocence and they were sent free! So for every seven inmates convicted one of those seven where innocent. This is my second reason that I do not agree with the Death Penalty. My Third, and final reason for not having the death penalty is Forgiveness/Remorse. For this I mean that the person that is put to life is prison has a chance to make things right and really think about what happened when they murdered someone. Thus they have to live with that for the rest of their life then say the "easy" way out of it.  Money, Innocent killings, and Forgiveness/Remorse are just three of my reasons why I think the Death Penalty is wrong and should be changed in those 34 states. Thank you Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_penalty) for some of this information.

P.I.E Analysis Paragraph on Luke and Doug

When the going gets tough keep focused on the goal. Luke's family was killed by the imperial storm troopers. After Luke found out more about his father from Obi-wan he gave Luke his fathers lite sabers, After his family's death he agrees to go with Obi-wan to Alderaan, "I  want to come to Alderaan with you" Luke Skywalker. Obi-Wan begins Luke's Jedi training as they try to help save the captured princess from the Ship. Luke compares to Doug from Blue Diamond by when Doug looks in the glove compartment and finds the revolver and realizes that Quinn is trying to kill himself. "Maybe there are no big reasons. Maybe people stay alive for seventy years worth of little reasons that are all lined up one after the other" said Doug. Which shows that when the going does in fact get tough you just got to stay focused and think about what your solutions are. A way that the two characters are different is that Luke has a team or a group of people (R2D2, C-3PO, Han Solo, Obi-wan and Chewbaca) that he works with to save Princess Leia from the star ship "That's no moon. It's a space station"said Obi-wan when they were on Han solos space craft. Doug on the other hand only has himself to help convince Quinn that his life means something and how he should not commit suicide, "I stumbled over to the bathrooms praying that Quinn was just going to the bathroom but it was just a fat guy in the stalls, then Quinn came out of the stall looking like he just ran a 100". This has to do with my topic sentence because it helps to have someone with you in the time of need to help you stayed focus on your goal and Doug did not have that help but he still made it though with Quinn and the diamond. My Third and final point is they both had a symbolic item that helped them accomplish their goals. Luke had the Force which in the end helped him kill the Space station right as it was about to kill the rebel plant. "You must learn the ways of the Force, if you're to come with me to Alderaan. " which in the end ultimately saved the planet. In Doug's case he had the diamond which he got from winning at the casino which really helped saves Quinn's life because it helped resemble who and what he really was. This Stupid diamond won't do us much we need to to get rid of it for our new album".  In conclusion Luke Skywalker from Starwars and Doug from Blue Diamond both have similarities  and differences on the topic When the going gets tough keep focused on the goal.
